Where to get the right care

Follow our simple guide to help you access the right healthcare service nearest to you.

1. Start at Home

Did you know everyday illnesses like colds, coughs and sore throats don't need an antibiotic? Most colds can be treated at home. Visit HSE guidance on Common illnesses to find out what you do to look after your child and family.

2. Your Local Pharmacist can Help

Your pharmacist can provide the appropriate advice for aches, pains or the common cold. If symptoms persist contact your GP or DubDoc out of hours service

3. Visit Your GP and Out of Hours GP

Visit your GP during normal surgery hours for advice on medical illnesses. Confirm with your GP how you can access out of hours GP servicesif needed. Dubdoc provides GP out of hours services in Dublin.

4. Urgent Care Centre - CHI at Connolly

  • CHI at Connolly in Blanchardstown, provides Outpatients Clinics and Urgent Care services by appointment only.
  • Open 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays).
  • Minor injuries and illnesses that are not life-threatening and do not require a visit to the Emergency Department are treated here.

5. Emergency Department (ED)

  • The EDs in CHI at Crumlin, Temple Street. If you are concerned or worried that your child's condition is deteriorating please come to the ED. Those with less severe symptoms may have to wait to be seen in the ED via a triage system.
  • Emergency Departments are open 24/7 365 Days/Year

The service is available by appointment only for urgent medical issues that cannot wait until your GP practice reopens. Outside these hours, a remote GP consultation service is available by phone. Home visits may be arranged in certain circumstances. https://www.dubdoc.ie/
