Transitional Care Unit (TCU)
The Transitional Care Unit is a 7-bedded unit specifically designed to cater for children who are medically stable but require long term ventilation or other technological dependencies and/or have complex care needs.

We are located on the ground floor opposite St Annes ward beside the fish tank.

The focus of TCU is on the neurological, social and emotional development of the patient, integration into family life and transition to home-care where possible.
The unit currently consists of five beds and our patients have access to sensory play equipment and an outdoor play area, and a full time play specialist which is essential in facilitating their development play skills.
