Useful Information
Social Stories - Get to know our hospitals
Social stories are simple, child-friendly stories that help children understand what to expect when visiting the hospital. They use clear language and pictures to explain places, people, and procedures in a calm and reassuring way. Social stories can help reduce anxiety, build confidence, and support children to feel more prepared for their hospital visit.

Sensory Rooms
Our multi-sensory rooms are specially designed spaces featuring fibre optics, soft lighting, wall projections, tactile objects, and twinkle lights. These elements help create a relaxing and engaging environment, offering children and young people a sense of comfort and escapism.
Sensory rooms and spaces are available across all CHI sites. If your child would benefit from using one, please ask a member of staff for access.
