Dr Emma MacDermott is a Consultant in Rheumatology and works within the Rheumatology Service at Children's Health Ireland.
Rheumatology The National Centre for Paediatric Rheumatology was established at CHI at Crumlin in 2006 and cares for over 2,500-3,000 children and adolescents with chronic inflammatory disorders in Ireland every year. It provides a daily ambulatory service, biweekly infusion clinics, joint injections and a busy day ward and active inpatient service. CHI at Temple Street also provides a weekly Rheumatology clinic, day ward services and inpatient services. Paediatric rheumatology is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory diseases and disorders that can affect the bones, muscles, joints, tendons and connective tissues.
Referrals Referrals from GPs and Secondary Care Paediatricians are accepted via Healthlink. Urgent referrals should be made by contacting the department directly via phone and in writing.
