Professor Amre Shahwan is Consultant Paediatric Clinical Neurophysiologist and Epileptologist. He trained in Dublin, Ireland initially then with more specialised EEG, video EEG and Epilepsy in Melbourne, Australia at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
He has been Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist and Epileptologist at CHIL at Temple St since 2008. He specialises in paediatric EEG and video EEG telemetry which are his main areas of expertise. He works very closely with the paediatric neurology department in Temple Street and with his paediatric neurology colleagues across Ireland, consulting mainly on EEG studies, video EEG telemetry and paediatric epilepsy. Professor Shahwan is a keen teacher and educator, being deeply invested and involved in medical education at both undergraduate (RCSI & UCD) and post-graduate (paediatric NCHDs and fellows) levels in paediatric EEG, video EEG telemetry and paediatric epilepsy.
