Please bring all your respiratory medications, including inhalers and devices, with you to the clinic.

Before your visit, complete the Asthma Control Test and share your score with us.

Additional Advice

● Be ready to discuss your child’s symptoms in detail, including when they happen, what seems to trigger them, and how often you use quick-fixer and preventer medications.

● Let us know if you’ve noticed any changes in how your child responds to treatments or if symptoms have gotten better or worse.

● If your child has had recent flare-ups or asthma attacks, please share what treatments were used and how effective they were.

● If you’ve tried stopping or adjusting preventer medications, tell us how your child responded.

● Don’t hesitate to ask questions or share any concerns about your child’s asthma management or symptoms.

● Remember, managing asthma can be tricky and sometimes requires trial and review. Your input is important to help us tailor the best plan for your child.

Please bring your child’s inhalers and devices to their appointment.

Your child’s height and weight will be taken.

You may be asked to complete the Asthma Control Test while waiting to see your doctor.

The following tests may be carried out at your child’s clinic visit:

• Breathing test if 5 years or over
• Blood test
• X-ray

The respiratory nurse may check your child’s inhaler technique and offer asthma education and support at this clinic

Your child will receive an asthma action plan at this clinic.
