Letter to My Younger Self” is a psychosocial support booklet co-written by adolescent patients with Type 1 Diabetes and their parents at CHI Crumlin. This resource emerged from a four-week peer support programme facilitated by the Diabetes Psychology Service, where young people and their parents shared their lived experience of receiving a life-changing diagnosis.

By hearing directly from peers who have “been there,” newly diagnosed patients and their families can gain emotional anchoring, normalisation, and hope.
