Please note: From the 30 May 2025, the Neurology Service in CHI at Tallaght will be relocating to CHI at Crumlin. Please note that the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) service will no longer be available in CHI at Tallaght. This change is due to changes within Children’s Health Ireland, as we move towards the new children's hospital.

Changes to Neurology Service in CHI at Tallaght. Frequently Asked Questions for the epilepsy service
1.How will my child be affected by the service changes?
Prof Webb’s Neurology and Ann Connolly’s Epilepsy ANP services are relocating from CHI at Tallaght to CHI at Crumlin. Your child will remain under the care of Prof David Webb and your child’s next appointment will take place in the Neurology Outpatient Department in Crumlin. Your child’s treatment plan will not change. However, if concerns arise before your child’s next appointment you can contact the Neurology Nurses Telephone Service in Crumlin.
2. How do I contact the neurology nurse telephone service?
A voicemail service is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 08.00am – 12.00pm midday 01 409 6581. This service is for queries relating to your child’s epilepsy. Please listen to the voicemail message carefully as times are subject to change. Please leave your child’s name, DOB, a brief message and your phone number. Please remember, this is not an emergency service and calls will be returned in order of priority (within 3-5 working days).
3. What do I do if I have an urgent concern?
Please attend your GP or local ED if you feel that your child has an urgent need for treatment.
4. How do I send videos of my child?
CHI at Crumlin Neurology service uses a video platform. If you need to send a video, please phone the neurology nurses voicemail and leave a message. A nurse will contact you to explain how to send the video and to arrange to send a video link.
5. Can I access the service via email?
There is no facility to contact the neurology service via email.
6. If I need a repeat prescription, what do I do?
Please contact your GP for repeat prescriptions. The neurology team are also happy to take calls from GP’s regarding prescription queries.
7. If I need to check my appointment, who do I ring?
You will be contacted regarding your appointment.
8. If I need to check about an EEG who I ring?
Please contact the EEG secretary on 01 409 6904. EEG results will be discussed at your next appointment. You will be contacted if changes are required before your next appointment.
